From Classroom to Competition: Inspiring the Next Generation of Engineers

 

Unlike traditional races, the Shell Eco-Marathon isn’t about speed—it's about how far a vehicle can go using the least amount of energy. Teams from around the globe compete in categories based on different energy types including hydrogen fuel cells, battery electric, gasoline, and diesel. High Efficiency Karlsruhe, a project team of students from multidiscipline, achieved a distance of 406.9 km/m3 of hydrogen in 2025, earning them fifth place in their vehicle category.
